Vote Requires Detailing of Budget Cuts

House lawmakers of both parties voted overwhelmingly for a bill that would require the Obama administration to specify how it would make $110 billion in required federal spending cuts next year, a move that could reveal for the first time how the measures would affect day-to-day government operations.

A similar version of the legislation passed the Senate last month, and aides to both parties said they expect some form of the reporting requirement to be approved by Congress shortly.
